How to join us:

1. Fill out our membership form below.

2. Pay your dues

              -Our general dues are $35 per semester or $60 for the whole year!  This deadline has passed

              - If you pay past 9/17, our late dues are $40 per semester or $70 for the whole year. Late fees now apply!

              - We accept cash, check (payable to "Global Medical Training"), PayPal

                  (@GMTUT), and Venmo (@GMTatUT)

               -Dues are non-refundable past the membership deadline (9/17)

                                                                        

  3. Join our informative GMT list serve to receive weekly update emails. 

            - You can do that here! Just log in and select "Subscribe".

Active Status Point Breakdown

 To be considered an ACTIVE MEMBER, you must acquire a total of 20 points each semester.

            1. Earn the minimum required points in each category, making sure your overall total is at least 20 pts!

            2. Pay dues by the 2nd General Meeting

Tripper Status Point Breakdown

To be considered a TRIPPER, obtain a total of 34 points before you depart on your trip (at least: 8 from workshop, 10 from volunteering, 6 from social, 3 from fundraising, 4 from meetings, and 3 from Pre-Health category)

          *6 MANDATORY workshops 

         *In order to get your additional points, a tripper must attend additional       

           fundraising/social/volunteering events.

Points FAQ 

Q: How do I achieve active status?

A: We have a large variety of events for our members to attend! In order to achieve active status, members must obtain 20 points from the following categories: social (4), workshop (2), pre-health (3), volunteering (5), fundraising (3), and meetings (3). 

 

Q: What if I have lab/work during the General Meetings?

A: We are all busy, hardworking students, and GMT understands that! We will offer “special meetings,” which are online, for members who have a valid conflict on Wednesdays. To attend these meetings, email gmtpresident@gmail.com with your conflict and request. Additionally, after each GM, the meeting slides will be posted below. 

 

Q: I was selected to attend the Spring Break trip, but am worried that I will not achieve tripper status by the deadline. What can I do?

A: A maximum of 12 points will carry over from the Fall semester for those members attending the spring trip only. The remaining 22 points must be obtained from spring events (6 of which will be earned via the mandatory trip workshops). 

 

Q: I do not think I can earn enough points in one or more categories? Can I still achieve active status?

A: We encourage our members to remain as active as possible, especially as our officers work hard to continue adding quality events throughout the year. Keep up to date on the event sheet for the latest event info. Members who have earned 20+ points and are concerned about reaching the point requirements in specific categories can reach out to gmtvicepresident@gmail.com on or after 11/22/2025.
